Student debt should not be forgiven:
Our society seems to think that College at times is the ONLY answer for educating our citizens. Often it is merely a stop gap for those who are unsure. So instead of racking up debt for a purpose you are not sure of, go get a job-any job. Do not think college is a game, party time or something to “find yourself”. Sure, college can certainly be fulfilling. But before attending college be sure it is part of your life’s plan. No one is forcing you to go to college. Do something that you feel will make you productive.
So, if you incur Debt, it is your Debt, not my Debt, not your neighbor’s Debt. You, the person, chose college.
What about the person that opted to start a plumbing business, opened a retail shop, restaurant or a construction business who had to borrow money to buy equipment, etc. They should get their debt forgiven, etc.-of course not. Why are these students being The American Whore?

Naturally, the students obvious rebuttal is the multi-billions, perhaps trillions, of bailout dollars to the banks and other financial institutions during the “fiscal crisis” of 2008 that was caused by these same banks who were bailed out. And the students, and their advocates, would be absolutely correct. The American Whore is from all walks of life. Give to me, but shame the others that would want hand outs. This is of course America’s whole problem. Someone screws up-throw money at the problem-and let future generations suffer the consequences of us being The American Whore.
