“War-what is it good for?” was a famed 1969 song released by Motown during the height of the Vietnam War. The song was a protest against the Vietnam War that lingered from the late 1950s into the early 1970s. And now, in the 21st century we again ask ourselves, “War-what is it good for?” Well, it’s good for Defense Contractors-especially American contractors.
The US has committed about $70 billion toward the defense of Ukraine against Russia through Sept 2023, per Statistica.com-see link.

And since World War II, the U.S. has supported Israeli war efforts to the tune of over $270 billion.

How much do US taxpayers have to commit, for potential minimal results, as we ask future generations to liquidate an unsustainable debt even before funding worldwide conflicts? We see that Israel and the mid-east continue to battle since World War II. Yet we continue to pay for the world’s woes, even though we cannot support our own nation, domestically, without borrowing funds for which we have no intent to ever repay.
So, Ukraine war marches on, the Israeli-Mideast War/Conflicts have existed for over 8 decades. Do the US citizens get their “money’s worth”?
